Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice." I dropped a pair of tweezers just a minute ago and learned a valuable lesson (again).
You see, I dropped them between the side my desk and the wall. Everyone has little black holes in their homes -- this is mine. It's a cramped space you can't really GET to, and I thought (sarcastically), "GREAT, I've lost another good pair of tweezers". Instantly, I remember Philippians 4:4 and the MANY times God has used what I'd call inconvenience or tragedy for my good -- but this was a lost pair of tweezers... that can't apply HERE!
But, I got down on my knees and braved the imaginary spiders and snakes to poke around in the abyss. "What's this?" I found a remote control. "Funny, I'm not missing a remote..." I thought. Then it hit me. OH! This has an HP logo on it (did I mention I now work for HP?) "This is the remote control to my HP Media Center computer. COOL!"
Digging a little further I found a USB cable that was unplugged and plugged it back into the USB port under my desk. "Buh Dum", said my computer. A bubble popped up to tell me I found my Media Center Remote Receiver. What good would the remote do without THAT plugged in. This was turning out to be useful after all... But still no tweezers. I dove in again!
"Wha---?" It was my trusty Sonic Screwdriver (Doctor Who: BBC Series). I didn't even know it was LOST! I also found a thumb tack, a nice notepad... oh... and a pair of tweezers.
Take heart, no matter WHAT we are going through, BIG or small, horrific or just annoying - God is on His throne, over all creation and is not surprised by our circumstances. Or as I like to sum up Phil 4:4, "It's all good... God said so!"
